A dusk silhouette always makes for a colorful drawing, but if you add in a few Halloweenish elements, and so y'all get a fun seasonal project as well.

I of the swell thing well-nigh drawing a silhouette similar this is that it's so easy to fix little oops-es. Non happy with how your true cat looks? Turn information technology into a bush. Thinking your tree looks too sparse? Add more black to thicken it upwards.

Whatever students end up drawing, just brand certain they know that the drama of their black shapes against the colorful sky depends on how well they fill in the black. Scribbles will only accept away from the contrast, which is what makes this kind of work so fun to expect at.

And teachers, DO endeavor to provide newer-ish markers so that students can get a really black color. Information technology always pained me to see some struggling with worn out ones equally they are doing all the work for a fraction of the impact. Budget permitting of course, and y'all have my sympathy if your budget is whatever is in your wallet. I've been there. 🙁

Materials for a Halloween Dusk Drawing

  • Eraser. Large ones yous can hold in your mitt do a much better chore than just the pencil tips.
  • Black Sharpie Marker. These fine point permanent marker pens brand nice blackness outlines, have a good tip for coloring, and never bleed when they go moisture. Use them with good ventilation and add extra paper underneath to protect your tables.
  • Prang Crayons. These are a bit softer than other crayons and so they sometimes look like oil pastels. They also take a some dainty brown shades that Crayola does non take unless you buy their larger boxes.
  • Crayola Crayons. The reliable brand that always works well. The 24 pack has some of my favorite aureate orangish and yellowish colors that seem a bit richer and warmer than the ones Prang has.
